Christopher Allen Lanier
August 04, 1973 - July 20, 2010Goldsboro – Christopher Allen Lanier, 36, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at his home.
Christopher was born in Wayne County on August 4, 1973 to Richard Lanier and Christy Smith Lanier. He was married to Ondra Adams Lanier. Christopher was a surgical technician and his specialty was orthopedics at Wayne Memorial Hospital and Wake Med of Cary. Christopher attended Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church. He was an avid Carolina Tar Heel fan and enjoyed fishing, going to the beach and watching his children play baseball. Christopher enjoyed being with his children and family and two boston terriers Bailey and Holly whom he loved very much.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Bailey officiating. Visitation will follow after the service.
In addition to his parents and wife, Christopher is survived by his brother; Brett Jackson Lanier of Raleigh; his sisters, Jennifer Leigh Jenkins of Sumter, SC and Melissa Dawn Holt of Las Vegas, Nevada; his sons, Josh Wheeler and Hagan Reese Lanier; his maternal grandmother, Betty Rose Martin of Dudley; his mother-in-law, Peggy Byrd and husband Larry of Coats, NC and his father-in-law, Billy Adams and wife Joanne of Newton Grove.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Armond Lanier and Betty Lanier; and maternal grandfather, Thomas Martin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the Educational Fund for Hagan Reese Lanier and Josh Wheeler at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 752 Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
The family will receive friends at the home of his parents at 905 Jay Ryan Road, Goldsboro.
