Russell Vinson, Sr.
September 06, 1922 - July 22, 2010Goldsboro – Russell Vinson, Sr., 87, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at his home.
Russell was born in Wayne County on September 6, 1922 to the late Ed Vinson and Effie Peele Vinson. He was married to the late Mildred Wiley Vinson. He served his country in the United States Army.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home chapel with Ray Boyette and Lewis Forsythe officiating. Entombment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Russell is survived by his sons, Bill Vinson and wife Penny, Gene Vinson and wife Pat, Russell Vinson, Jr. and wife Sharon, and Danny Vinson and wife Debbie, all of Goldsboro; eleven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren and special friend, Marie Williams of Goldsboro.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ed Vinson; his sisters, Ruby Smith and Audrey Vaglenti; his granddaughter, Beth-Ellen Vinson.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
