Frances Mumford Carter
November 27, 1928 - July 22, 2010Goldsboro – Frances Mumford Carter, 81, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at her home.
Frances was born in Wayne County on November 27, 1928 to the late Larry Mumford, Sr. and Cora Parnell Mumford. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Frances was married to the late Gordon E. Carter. She worked as a clerk at the Pikeville Drug store for thirty five years.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Carter will be Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Stallings officiating. Interment will be Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Pikeville Cemetery.
Frances is survived by her son, Danny Carter and wife Jennette of Pikeville; sisters-in-law, Mary Mumford of Charlotte and Alice McDaniel of Durham; brother-in-law, Emmitte Carter of Goldsboro .
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry Mumford and Carroll Mumford.
