David John Adams


Goldsboro – Mr. David John Adams, 83, died Sunday, August 11, 2002, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

He was born on February 24, 1919 and is the son of the late William H. and Saley S. Adams of Goldsboro. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Wayne Masonic Lodge #112, Scottish Rite of New Bern, Sudan Temple of New Bern and Wayne County Shrine Club. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the First Presbyterian Church of Goldsboro.

Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 63 years, Christine Ipock Adams; a daughter, Beverly A. Harvey and her husband, George E. Harvey, Jr. of Florence, SC; a son, David B. Adams and his wife, Ceacila T. Adams of Charlotte; a sister, Sadie J. Adams of Goldsboro; and five grandchildren, George E. ("Gee") Harvey III and his wife, Lori S. Harvey of Atlanta, GA, Ashley D. Harvey and his wife, Jennifer G. Harvey of Charlotte, Bryce B. Adams of Honolulu, HI, Christina L. Adams of Charlotte and S. Kyle Robinson of Los Angeles, CA; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Peed and Michael Peed.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2002, at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel in Goldsboro. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2002, and at other times at Mr. Adams home at 601 Gloucester Road, Goldsboro.
