Helen McClenny Anderson

December 31, 1922 – March 19, 2008
Goldsboro – Mrs. Helen McClenny Anderson, 85, of 229 S. Spence
Avenue, died March 19, 2008, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A native of Wayne County, she was preceded in death by her husband,
James William “Hank” Anderson.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Wayne County on December 31, 1922, to the
late John Anders McClenny and Maggie Bartlett McClenny. Mrs.
Anderson was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She
served in the United States Naval Service and discharged under
honorable conditions the 19th day of March 1945.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 24,
2008, at the Mausoleum Chapel in Wayne Memorial Park with The Rev.
Thurman Horney, Associate Pastor, St. Paul United Methodist Church
officiating. Entombment will follow the service.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Penny) Anderson
of Inwood, WV, a son, William Fred Anderson of Fredericksburg, VA.
Her son, Robert (Bobby) Lionel Anderson, Jr., preceded her death.
She is also survived by a step-son, James (Buddy) W. Anderson, III
of FL, a stepdaughter, Tonya O’Riley and husband, Eddie of SC, a
stepdaughter, Theresa Franklin and husband, David, of FL and several
grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice
Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534 or St. Paul
United Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut St., Goldsboro, NC 27530.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Sunday, March 23,
2008, at Seymour Funeral Home. |
