James William Anderson Jr.

Goldsboro – Mr. James William “Hank” Anderson, Jr., 81, of 229 S. Spence Ave., died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Wayne County, he was preceded in death by his father James William Anderson, Sr., his mother, Lillie Crocker Anderson and his sister, Maggie A. Belk. Mr. Anderson was a brick mason, employed by United Masonry in Alexandria, VA for 21 years. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2615 and the Goldsboro Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #139. He was a TSGT in the Army Air Corp 362 Fighter Group serving during World War II.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Billy Seate and Rev. Bob Bame officiating. Entombment will be at Wayne Memorial Park. 

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife of 33 years , Helen M. Anderson; a son, James W. Anderson III and wife, Nyoka of Sarasota, FL; two daughters, Tonya O’Riley and husband, Eddie of Alexandria, VA and Theresa Franklin and husband, David of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren; a step-son, Fred Anderson and wife, Aneta of Goldsboro; a step-daughter, Patricia Harrold and husband, Chuck of Inwood, WV; a sister, Betty Travis of Goldsboro and several nieces and nephews.
