Russell Rufus Anderson

Goldsboro – Mr. Russell Rufus Anderson, 95, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Duplin County, he was the son of the late Luther Haines Anderson and Nettie Jane Mathis Anderson and was married to the late Addie Mae A. Anderson. Mr. Anderson was manager of Weil-Dixie Farm Supply for 42 years and was a member of the Golden “K” Kiwanis Club. He was a charter member, trustee, and elder emeritus of Northview Christian Church.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery with Rev. Steve Gillette presiding.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his daughter, Lynda F. Anderson Smith and husband Doug of Beaufort, SC; his sons, Luther H. Anderson and wife Sallye of Goldsboro and Russell E. Anderson and wife Frances of Garner; his brothers, Hallie Anderson of Raleigh and Elbert Anderson of Wilson; six grandchildren, Eve Sicard of Farmville, Michael Anderson of Fremont, Theresa Glisson of Goldsboro, Patti Anderson of Hillsborough, Rusty Anderson of Zebulon and Joey Anderson of Zebulon; eleven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Jason Glisson, Andy Anderson, Matthew Anderson, Jeremy Anderson, Steven Anderson and Greg Olson.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at 211 Little River Drive, Goldsboro.
