Charles Moye Barnes

Goldsboro – Mr. Charles “Rab” Moye Barnes, 76, of 209 Plantation Road, died Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Wilson County, he was the son of the late John Robert and Sadie Pate Barnes and was a manufactured sales representative for 35 years and retired in 1993 with 10 years of service with Helig Meyers. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Goldsboro Elks Lodge #139 B.P.O.E.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Glenn Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma McClary Barnes; his sons, Robin N. Barnes of Salty Path, Jeffrey Lynn Barnes and wife, Amy of Goldsboro and Andy Barnes of the home; his daughter, Bonnie James and husband, Jesse of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Charles Nathan James, Nolan Robert James, and Jennifer Lynn Barnes; and his brother, Donald Barnes of Atlanta, GA.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
