Floy Castleberry Bell


Goldsboro – Floy Castleberry Bell, 88, died Friday in Athens, GA.

A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Alonzo Faucette Castleberry and Bettie Coats Castleberry and was the widow of Luby Chester Bell. She was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Bell was a retired Civil Service employee with 30 years of service, having worked with the Veteran’s Administration, the Pentagon as a secretary with the Intelligence Department and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery with the Reverend Dave Fishman officiating.

She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Betty Bisplinghoff and husband, Bob Bisplinghoff of Athens, GA; son, Mickey Castleberry Bell and wife, Kathy Button Bell of St. Louis, MO; and her grandchildren, Jamie Shockley and wife, Rachel Simpson Shockley of Athens, GA, Carly Shockley of Boston, GA and Michael Bell, Jr. of St. Louis, MO.

The family will receive friends Friday at Seymour Funeral Home from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
