Richard Everdale Blackman

Goldsboro – Mr. Richard Everdale Blackman, 77, of 102 River Run Place died Sunday at Britthaven Nursing Home.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Harvey M. Blackman and Katie Clyde Ennis Blackman. Mr. Blackman was retired from the United States Air Force having worked as an aircraft mechanic.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wayne Memorial Park with full military honors. 

Mr. Blackman is survived by his wife, Leona Lucille Ramsey Blackman; his daughters, Ruth Ann Day of Goldsboro and Martha Jean Grice of Charlotte, SC; his sons, David Allen Blackman of Billings, Montana and Paul Edward Blackman of Connecticut; a sister, Mavis Quinn of Wellford, SC; his brothers, Luby Albert Blackman and Delano Brent Blackman, both of Joanna, SC; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 971, Goldsboro, NC 27533 or the American Heart Association, 3015 S. Memorial Drive S-A, Greenville, NC 27834.

The family will greet friends Thursday from 12:30 -1:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
