Goldsboro
– John Gerald Bloom, 59, of 207 Ryan Blvd., died Friday morning at
Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, he was the son
of Geraldine M. Bloom of Huntsville, AL and the late John Clifton
Bloom. He was a buyer with FlexTronics Enclosures in Smithfield and
retired from IBM in 1992. Mr. Bloom was the vice president of the
homeowners association in Colony Square. He had also served his
country in the United States Navy.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Kinston.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his
wife, Cathy Jean Jones; his children, Michael Carl Bloom and Steve
Alan Bloom both of Goldsboro and Samuel Kerr Bloom of Emerald Isle;
stepsons, Michael Brandon Murphy of Albertson and Stephen Clark
Murphy of Goldsboro; sister, Sandy Kicker and husband, Tom of
Warrior, AL; brothers, Ronald Bloom and David Bloom and wife, Lorri
both of Huntsville, AL; nephews, Denny Kicker and Jacob Kicker both
of Warrior, AL and Jordan Marshall of Tennessee.

The family will receive friends Saturday at
Seymour Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and other times at the
residence.
