Paula "Bliss" Butts Thomas

Goldsboro – Paula "Bliss" Butts Thomas, 87, of 2707 US 13 North, died Wednesday at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Helen Smith Butts and was the widow of Robert G. Thomas. She was a lifetime member of Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, member of the Ladies Auxiliary and was a former Sunday school teacher and pianist.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Mike Grady and Reynolds Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen Brown of Goldsboro; son, Glenn Thomas and wife, Ennette of Goldsboro; sisters, Edna Smith of Goldsboro and Mozelle Narron of Battleboro, NC; brothers, Fred Butts and wife, Juanita of Kinston and E.B. Butts and wife, Helen of Winston, Ga; daughter-in-law, Jewel Thomas of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Daryl Thomas, Sonya Brown, Charles Brown, Paula Brown, Glenn Thomas, Jr., Ginny Thomas Bass, Tyler Thomas, Travis Thomas, Teresa Best and husband, Allen, Regina Tucci, Brenda Bogaz, Vicki Bulluck and Kenneth Overton; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews, and a special niece, Wanda Dawson of Goldsboro.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Thomas; son, Kenneth Thomas; and sister, Isabelle Butts.

The family will receive friends Friday at Seymour Funeral Home from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and other times at the residence of Allen and Teresa Best, 2665 US 13 N, Goldsboro.
