Orville B. Candler

Orville B. Candler, 83, of 125 Candler Drive, went on to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday.

Mr. Candler was born in Wilkes County, Georgia and was the son of the late Walter and Mary Nancy Strother Candler. After 37 years of service, he retired as a Process Engineer with General Electric and served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Candler was a member of Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as deacon.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Grady and Rev. David Hayes officiating. Interment will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Candler is survived by his wife, Edna Hare Candler; his daughters, Christa Hayes and husband, David of Goldsboro and Marcia Wheless and husband, Terry of Durham; his sons, Bardo Candler and wife, Phyllis of Goldsboro, Marco Candler and wife, Laura of Fayetteville, and Angelo Candler and wife, Sharon of Clayton; his brothers, W.L. Candler of Thomson, GA, Albert Candler of Augusta, GA and Robert Candler of Rome, GA; and his grandchildren, Kresant Kelly, Shane Hayes, Tiffany Wheless-Baird, Stacy Candler, Wendy Candler, Amy Candler, Matthew Candler, Kayla Candler and Hannah Candler.

The family will receive friends Thursday at Seymour Funeral Home following the service and other times at the residence.
