William Aaron Carraway


Goldsboro – Mr. William Aaron Carraway, 77, of 503 Handley Acres Drive, died Thursday at his home.

A native of Johnston County, he was the son of the late William Thomas Carraway and Ophelia Jane Lee Carraway. Mr. Carraway worked as a truck driver for Made Rite Bakery and had owned and operated Carraway’s Little Restaurant on Center Street in Goldsboro. He was a member of Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Grady officiating. Interment will be held at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston pending the arrival of his grandson from Iraq.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Malpass Carraway; his daughter, Brenda Crumpler and husband, Brad of Goldsboro; his son, William Thomas Carraway of Wilmington; his sister, Madeline Mitchell of Nahunta; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and his best friend and companion was his dog, Sable.

Mr. Carraway was preceded in death by his son, William Aaron Carraway, Jr.

The family will receive friends Saturday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
