Ralph Stuart Carraway
 Goldsboro – Mr. Ralph Stuart Carraway, 77, of 111 Northview Drive, died Tuesday at Wake Medical Center.
A native of Candler County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Jesse Robert Carraway and Bettie Edwards Carraway and was married to the late Dorothy Sutton Carraway. Mr. Carraway was a retired engineering assistant with Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Construction Management and was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy. He was a member of Goldsboro Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Goldsboro Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Delbert Carraway and Elder Bobby Daughtry officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Carraway is survived by his wife, Carrie P. Carraway of Goldsboro; his daughters, Betty Jane Wells and husband, Jimmy of Rosewood and Patricia Jo Gurley and husband, Greg of Goldsboro; his brothers, Jay Carraway of Ayden, Delbert F. Carraway of Sanford and James D. Carraway of Melbourne, FL; his sisters, Christine Pate of Pikeville and Barbara J. Carraway of Stuart, FL; four grandchildren, Michelle Wells, Ray Wells and wife, Shannon, Shannon G. Walker and husband, Craig and Scott Gurley; a great-grandson, Austin Wells; his step-children, Homer Pike, Jr. and wife, Carmen, Allen Pike and wife, Susan, Carolyn Thomas and husband, Donald and Maxine Godwin and husband, Danny; and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Verna Howell and Addie Ellen Williams and his brothers, Robert E. Carraway and Byrle Carraway.
Memorials may be made to Goldsboro Primitive Baptist Church, care of Mildred Mercer, 403 S. Best Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
The family will receive friends Wednesday at Seymour Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. and other times at the home of Betty and Jimmy Wells, 680 Oakland Church Road, Princeton.
