Sarah Sadler Carraway

Goldsboro – Sarah Sadler Carraway, 79, died Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Sarah was born in Wayne County on August 7, 1928 to the late Paul E. Sadler and Libbie Gwaltney Sadler. She was married to the late Robert E. Carraway. Sarah was a retired medical technologist and had worked in the laboratory at Wake Medical Center. She was a graduate of Duke University and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will follow at Willow Dale Cemetery.

Sarah is survived by her sons, David Steven Carraway and wife, Fran of Cary, James Patrick Carraway and wife, Deanna of New Bern and Thomas Edward Carraway of Goldsboro; her brother, William T. Sadler and wife, Alejandra of Los Cruses, NM; her grandchildren, Jennifer Carraway Stott and husband, Ashley; Timothy P. Carraway and wife, Courtney and Anne Patchette; and her great-grandson, Lance Stott. She is also survived by a special family friend, Kern Freeze of Raleigh.

The family received friends Monday, March 3, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home, 105 Spring Street, Goldsboro.
