Edna Long Carr

Edna Long Carr, 75, died Friday at Sunbridge Care and Rehab Center
in Mount Olive.
A native of Bladen County, she was the daughter of the late Carl and
Katie Ward Long. Mrs. Carr was a member of Westwood United Methodist
Church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the
Southern Wayne Women’s Club. Mrs. Carr formerly worked with Dundee
Donut Shop and the Red Bird Cab Company.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral
Home Chapel with the Revs. Donald Stewart and Rev. Bob Kretzu
officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Carr is survived by her husband, Tom Carr; a son, Mike Hinnant;
sisters, Lora Wood and JoAnn Parrish and Frances Christopher;
brothers, George Long and Leo Long,; a special niece and nephew,
Rhonda Carter and Jimmy Hinnant; and a very special aunt to a number
of other nieces and nephews.
She was a special "Nennie" to J.R., Thomas, Emily and Hunter.
Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Hinnant and
brother, Billy Long.
