Cayla Marie Chase

LaGrange – Miss Cayla Marie Chase, 10, of 230 Mark Edwards Road died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, Cayla was a fifth grade student at Eastern Wayne Elementary School where she was a member of the school chorus. She was on the school honor roll and had perfect attendance for this school year. She was also a member of El Bethel Assembly and the church young people’s choir where she loved to sing for Jesus.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 3 PM at El Bethel Assembly with Rev. Steve Holder officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

She is survived by her parents, Michael and Terri Rhew Chase; a sister, Brooke Logan Chase; grandmother, Della Rhew of Goldsboro; aunts and uncles, Becki McGowan, Jennifer Medlin and husband, Rick, Fannie Amos, Ruben Chase, Frank Chase all of Goldsboro, Pam Bush and husband, Gary of St. Louis, Missouri, Eva Erlich and husband, Steve of Georgia, Kim Scrufari and husband, Anthony and Danny Rhew and wife Jackie, all of Pikeville, Susan Newell and husband, Gary of Fremont and Carol Palo of Staten Island, New York.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Edward T. Rhew and her paternal grandparents, Joseph William and Marie Browder Chase.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to El-Bethel Assembly, 2308 N. William Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Saturday at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the residence of Jennifer and Rick Medlin, 1985 U. S. 70 West, Goldsboro, NC.
