Henry Bryant Combs

Pikeville – Mr. Henry Bryant “H.B.” Combs, 78, of 3887 North U.S. 117, died Tuesday at his home.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Nathan Addison Combs and Ola Pate Combs. Mr. Combs retired from Turner Equipment Company in 1988 and was a member of Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as an usher and was a choir member.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Steve Jones and Rev. James Herring officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the William Thigpen Cemetery.

Mr. Combs is survived by his wife, Ava Howell Combs; two sons, Henry Bryant Combs, Jr. and wife, Elena of Goldsboro and Nathan Delbert Combs and wife Barbara of Simpsonville, SC; his sisters, Mildred Combs Marlowe of Goldsboro, Vivian Combs Lancaster of Pikeville, Jo Anna Combs King of Goldsboro and Peggy Combs Whitfield and husband Joseph of Nashville; and a brother, Leonard D. Combs and wife Dell of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Donald Combs, Lynn Farrell, Carolyn Combs, Henry Bryant “Hank” Combs III, Justina Combs, Rebecca Hamby and Henry Sharpe and his great-grandchildren, Nathan Combs, Jesolyn Farrell, Kyle Tuber and Savannah Sharpe.

Memorials may be made to Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3093 U.S. 117 North, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the residence.
