Lt. Col. Robert Elmer Davies

Goldsboro – Lt. Col. Robert Elmer Davies, Retired United States Army Reserve, died Wednesday at SunBridge for Mount Olive.

A native of Syracuse, New York, Lt. Col. Davies was the son of the late John Guy Davies and Flora Hedglon Davies and was married to the late Harriette Gene Ferguson Davies. He retired from the United States Army Reserve and served his country during World War II.

Memorial services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Phillip Hunter officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughters, Ruth Davies of Brattleboro, VT, Lynne Davies of Fremont, CA and Diane Cascio of Santa Clara, CA; his brother, George Davies of North Syracuse, NY; and his grandsons, Adam John Trzcinski of Boulder, CO and David James Trzcinski of Boston, MA.

The family will greet friends Sunday afternoon following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
