Rev. LaRue Davis

Goldsboro –
Rev. LaRue Davis, 71, of 499 Old Smithfield Road, went to his
heavenly home on Tuesday, November 4th at Kitty Askins Hospice
Center. He had fought a battle with a brain tumor for over 2 years.
He loved his life and was a wonderful Husband, loving Father and
Granddaddy.
Rev. Davis was born in Wayne County on November 24th, 1931, to the
late Tom and Ruth Davis. He was a 1951 graduate of Fremont High
School and attended Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville,
Tennessee, Atlantic Christian College, Wilson, NC and Wayne
Community College, Goldsboro, NC. He had pastored Friendship F.W.B.
Church, Middlesex, NC, Trinity F.W.B. Church, Pantego, NC, Belhaven
F.W.B. Church, Belhaven, NC, Maranatha F.W.B. Church, Greenville,
NC, Oak Grove F.W.B. Church, Elm City, NC. He was a former teacher
at Faith Christian Academy, Goldsboro, NC. and was employed at J.P.
Stevens Co., Goldsboro NC, Roscoe Griffin Shoes and The Belk Shoe
Department in Berkeley Mall. He was a member of Victory Free Will
Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 7:00 PM at Seymour Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. George C. Lee, Dr. Rick Cason and Rev. Doug Radford
officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his wife of 49 ½ years, Ella Bee Holland Davis; a
daughter, Joy Ruth Davis Lundquist and husband, Rick Lundquist of
Goldsboro, NC; son, Jonathan LaRue Davis and wife Terri Rye Davis of
Goldsboro, NC, Jeffrey Thomas Davis and wife, Lisa Winchester Davis
of Greeneville, TN; grandchildren, Brandie, Kasey and Kevin
Lundquist, Joseph, Matthew and Luke Davis, all of Goldsboro, NC,
Ella Grace and Emily Rose Davis of Greeneville, TN.
He was preceded in death by brothers, a twin, and Paul Vernon Davis
and a baby daughter.

The family will receive friends following the service, and at other
times at his residence or 673 Community Drive, Goldsboro, NC
