Dillard Rudolph Davis

Mr.
Dillard Rudolph Davis, 78, of 549 Big Daddy’s Road, died Saturday
night at his residence. A native of Wayne County, he was the son of
the late Dillard and Sadie Ferrell Davis. Mr. Davis was a member of
Free Chapel PFWB Church and served his country in the United States
Navy during WWII. He was retired from Griffin Exterminating.
Funeral service will be 7 P. M. Monday night at Free Chapel PFWB
Church with Rev. Steve Williams and Rev. Reynolds Smith officiating.
Interment will be 11 A. M. Tuesday at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Surviving: wife, Dollie Ginn Davis; daughter, Sheryl Holland and
husband Tony of Wilmington; sons, Gerald Davis of Pikeville and Glen
Davis and wife Nell of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Tonya Holland and
fiancée Chris Dunphy of Concord, Jennifer Dreyer and husband Julian
of Asheville, Chris Burrell of Washington, D. C., Justin Davis and
Taylor Davis of Goldsboro; great-grandson, Luca Dreyer; sister,
Linda Smith and husband Luther of Goldsboro; brothers, Leslie E.
Davis and wife Grace, Elmer Ray Davis and wife Kathryn, Royce Davis
and wife Evangeline, Dearl Davis and wife Glenda all of Goldsboro,
Kenneth Davis of Princeton, and Connie W. Davis and wife Helene of
Wilson; brother-in-law, Riley Anderson of Goldsboro.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a
sister, Velda D. Anderson.
Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to Community Homecare
& Hospice of Wayne, 1201 Wayne Memorial Dr., Goldsboro, NC 27534.
The family will receive friends following the service and at other
times they will be at the residence.
