Marvin Cox Daw


Pikeville – Marvin Cox Daw, 75, of 203 N. Washington Street, died Tuesday at his home.

An avid gardener and fisherman, Mr. Daw was the son of the late Noah Jesse Daw and Spicey Blake Daw and was retired from General Electric.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, where he was a member. Graveside services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. The Rev. Danny Freuler will officiate.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret S. Daw; his sons, Bob Daw of Pikeville, Mark Daw and wife Diane of Goldsboro, Tony Daw and wife Linda of Dudley and Tim Daw of Pikeville; brothers, N.J. Daw and David Daw both of Goldsboro; sisters, Helen Killette of Goldsboro and Eloise Baker of Tarboro; grandchildren, Renee D. Smith, Cammi Jones, Bobby Daw, Brandon Bond, Jeff Daw, Melissa Daw, Lindsey Daw, Lacey Daw Brandon Daw and Derrick Games; and 6 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends following the funeral service until 9:00 p.m. and other times at the residence.
