James Albert Deans


Mr. James Albert Deans, 82, of Raleigh and formerly of Goldsboro, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Wilson County, he was the son of the late William Ransom Deans and Rosa Anna Barnes Deans. Mr. Deans was retired from Dewey Brothers with 29 years of service and was a member of the Kinston First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.

Funeral services will be Monday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Deans is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy McFatter Deans; a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Jay Ellenburg of Raleigh; a son, Donald Deans of Goldsboro; and a sister, Beulah Mae Ledford of Mount Olive.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and also immediately following the service.
