MSgt Tom N. Deaton, Sr.

Goldsboro – MSgt Tom N. Deaton, Sr., 84, of 216 Glenwood Trail died Monday at his home.

A native of Roberson County, he was the son of the late George Deaton and Lydia Pittman Deaton. Mr. Deaton retired as a Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force and was a member of the Phoenix #8 Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church, the Woodmen of the World and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Deaton had also retired from the Boy Scouts of America.

Graveside Services with full military honors will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Louis Marriner, Jr. officiating.

Mr. Deaton is survived by his wife, Mildred Rawls Deaton; his daughters and sons-in-law, Quita and Frank Clifton of Mount Olive, Janice and Allen Sutton of Chesapeake, VA and Sandie and Rick Gambill of Mooresville; her son, Tom Deaton, Jr. of Kernersville; eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
