Bertha Game Outland Edgerton



Goldsboro – Mrs. Bertha Game Outland Edgerton, 91, a long-time resident of Goldsboro, died Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Eddie S. Game and Lettie Rogers Game and was the widow of James Milton Outland and Benjamin Leo Edgerton. Mrs. Edgerton was a retired minister in the Pentecostal Free Baptist Denomination and was a member of Pikes Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Timothy Creel and Rev. Chris Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Crocker Cemetery in Pine Level.

Mrs. Edgerton is survived by her foster son, W.S. Game and wife Mary of Goldsboro; a special niece, Ruby McIntosh and husband George of Princeton, her step-daughters, Ruth Parrish of Goldsboro, Myrtle Love of Durham and Golden Griffin of Virginia; her sister-in-law, Sylvia Game of Florida; her brother-in-law, Willie Brown of Pine Level; a special friend, Beulah Price of Goldsboro; several step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Pikes Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2492 Pikeville-Princeton Rd., Pikeville, NC 27863.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Ruby and George McIntosh, 1649 Rains Mill Road, Princeton.
