Ruby Hare Edmundson



Goldsboro – Mrs. Ruby Hare Edmundson, 89, of 4110 U.S. 13 North, died Sunday at her home. 

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Louis Hare and Maude Seymour Hare and was the widow of James T. Teachey and B.G. Edmundson. Mrs. Edmundson owned and operated Center Beauty Shop for 35 years, until her retirement. She was a charter member of Saulston United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for a number of years and was also a member of the North Carolina Hairdresser’s Association and the Home Demonstration Club.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Saulston United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Ward and Rev. JoAnn Turner officiating. Entombment will be at the Mausoleum Chapel of Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Edmundson is survived by her daughter, Ruby Jean Haithcock of New Bern and Linda P. Stutts and husband, Joseph A. Stutts of North Augusta, SC; her daughters-in-law, Georgia Teachey of Seven Springs and Lee Teachey of Goldsboro; her sisters, Sallie H. Flake of Albemarle and Lala DeGaetano of California; fourteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Ronald Teachey and Jim Teachey; her grandson, Jimmy Teachey; her sisters, Mary H. Anderson and Mae H. Hollowell; and her brothers, Arthur Hare, Charlie Hare, Russell Hare and Floyd Hare.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
