Joyce Cross Edwards

Goldsboro – Mrs. Joyce Cross Edwards, of Vinwood Avenue, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Levi Cross and Callie Cross Williams.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Braswell and Rev. Hunter Preston officiating.

Interment will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband, Ret. CMSgt Curtis R. Edwards of the home, her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony (Tony) and Jean Pope, her granddaughters, Brandy Williams and Melissa Pope and two great-granddaughters, all of Hampton, Virginia. She is also survived by one step-daughter, Velma Ruth Edwards, one step-granddaughter and husband, Tony Capps and two step great-grandchildren all of Goldsboro; her sister, Annie Rose Everett; her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Elaine Cross of Goldsboro; and three nieces and three nephews and their children.

The family will receive friends following the service Tuesday at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
