Nellie Williams Edwards

Goldsboro – Mrs. Nellie Williams Edwards, 91, of 1605 E. Maple Street died Wednesday at Sunbridge Care and Rehab in Mount Olive.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Evan Guillian Williams and Alice Mary Matsell Williams and was the widow of Luby Almon Edwards. Mrs. Edwards was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

Graveside services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Eugene Carpenter presiding.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her daughters, Sheila Jones and Marianne Jones and husband Zeb R. Jones both of Goldsboro; a son, Luby M. “Matt” Edwards and wife Mineko of Goldsboro; a sister, Mary Garris of Goldsboro; a brother, Herbert Williams of Rosewood; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Williams Keel.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 1806 E. Azalea Drive, Goldsboro.
