Harry Alton Evans, Jr.

Pikeville – Mr. Harry Alton Evans, Jr., 54, of 120 Sir Richard Drive, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Mr. Evans was the son of Harry Alton Evans, Sr. and the late Ellen Ferbie Jarrell Evans. Mr. Evans had worked as a paint contractor and had served in the United States Army.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Pikeville Cemetery with Dr. Don Sauls officiating.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Virginia Tucker Evans; his daughter, Pam Ritchie and her fiancée, Josh Murray of Goldsboro; his son, Harry Alton Evans III and wife, Melissa of Pikeville; his sisters, Cheryl Parker of Virginia Beach, VA and Ellen Henderson of Chesapeake, VA; and his grandson, Dylan Wayde Evans.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.

The family will greet friends Monday from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
