Ricky Leon Evans

LaGrange – Mr. Ricky Leon Evans, 40, of 313 LaGrange Road, died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of Alice Talmadge Malpass Evans and the late Allen Jethro "A.J." Evans. Mr. Evans was the owner and operator of Evans Paint and Wallpaper.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 8,2002, at 2 p.m. at Oak Heights P.F.W.B. Church. Rev. Horace Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Tonya C. Evans; daughters, Renee Evans of Princeton, Michelle Evans of Princeton and Megan Holder of the home; brothers, Ray Evans and wife, Gloria of Goldsboro and David Evans and wife, Louise of Goldsboro; sisters, Linda Robinson and husband, George of Houston, TX, Faye Merlin and husband, Al of Dudley, and Ann Pospichel of Dudley.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Cecil Evans.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 7, 2002, from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his mother’s home, 621 Outlaw Road, Dudley.
