Walter Paul Farmer

Goldsboro – Mr. Walter Paul Farmer, 93, died Sunday at his home.

A long time resident of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Walter and Julia Farmer and was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Barfield Farmer. Mr. Farmer had worked as a superintendent with Atlas Plywood Corporation and with Calypso Plywood. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Hunter Preston officiating.

Mr. Farmer is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and JoAnn Farmer of Durham, Phillip and Jeanne Farmer of Melbourne, FL, Michael and Marian Farmer of Peachtree City, GA, Lin and Virginia Farmer of Goldsboro and Tony and Pam Farmer of Goldsboro; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North Carolina Chapter of Leukemia Society, 5624 Executive Center Drive, S-100, Charlotte, NC 28212.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the cemetery and other times at the home of Lin and Virginia Farmer, 704 E. Forest Hill Drive, Goldsboro.
