Ivey Woodard Fields
Goldsboro – Mr. Ivey Woodard Fields, 79, of 208 Daniel Drive, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Sam and Irene Mitchell Fields and was a World War II veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Fields was a traffic recorder with the North Carolina Department of Transportation for 30 years and a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Hunter H. Preston officiating.
Mr. Fields is survived by his wife, Jane Moore Fields; daughters, Phyllis F. Brunson of Jacksonville, NC and Linda F. Blair and husband, Palmer Blair II of Summerfield, NC; a son; Edmund Fields and wife, Linda of Honolulu, Hawaii; a son-in-law, Dean Reeves of Swannee, GA; a sister, Olive F. Creech of Raleigh; brothers, George Fields and wife, Jean of Tampa, FL and Jesse Fields of Rosewood and four grandchildren, Palmer Blair III, Sam Blair, William Reeves and Sarah Reeves.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laverne F. Reeves and a sister, Agnes F. Windsor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, 200 E. New Hope Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
The family will receive friends Monday at Seymour Funeral Home from
7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
