James Arthur Fields
Goldsboro – Mr. James Arthur Fields, 81, of 311 S. Audubon Avenue, died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native of Lenoir, he was the son of the late Abner Cadez and Hattie Pearl Arthur Fields. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the BPOE Lodge . Mr. Fields was a veteran of the United States Army and World War II.
A graveside service will be Sunday at 2:00 PM at Willow Dale Cemetery with Dr. William Hufham officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Daisy Outlaw Fields; daughters, June Karen Fields of Goldsboro and Donna Fields Jacobs and husband, Elliott W. Jacobs of Elizabeth City, a brother, Marshall Fields of Burgaw; sisters, Hilma Maddaford and Hazel Webb, both of Florida and grandsons, Daniel Arthur Jacobs of Greenville and Edward Paul Jacobs of Elizabeth City and a great grandson, James Elliott Jacobs of Elizabeth City.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Fields and John Fields.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to first Presbyterian Church, 1101 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
