Joan S. Fitzsimmons

Goldsboro – Mrs. Joan Straight Fitzsimmons, 73, of 204 Acorn Road, died Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Mars Hill, Maine, Mrs. Fitzsimmons was the daughter of the late Isaac Straight and Regina Lewis Straight and was married to the late Lt. Col. Retired U.S.A.F. John Wayne Fitzsimmons. She was an avid mall walker at Berkeley Mall.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Smeltzer officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Fitzsimmons is survived by her daughter, U.S. Navy Commander Retired, Jan Fitzsimmons of Washington, DC and her son, Major Retired U.S.A.F. Jeffrey L. Fitzsimmons of Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
