Vernon Alstyne Floars

Goldsboro – Vernon Alstyne Floars, 55, of 187 Care Road, died Wednesday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of Ruby Wilkins Floars of Goldsboro and the late Alstyne Eben Floars. He was the former sales manager of Scott
Motor Company and attended Faith Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel at
7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dann Patrick and Dr. Rick Cason officiating.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Leigh
Floars Mullen and husband, Joel of Raleigh; sisters, JoAnn F. Herring of
Smithfield and Delores F. Blakeney of Winterville; and the mother of his
daughter, Shirley Creech.

The family will receive friends following the service at Seymour Funeral
Home until 9:00 p.m. and other times at the residence of Mrs. Ruby Floars,
1300 Ninth Street.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Faith Free Will
Baptist Church, 1200 W. Grantham Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
