Paul W. Flowers, Jr.

Goldsboro
– Mr. Paul W. Flowers, Jr., 72, died Friday, September 5, 2003, at
his home after a long illness.
He was born on December 5, 1930 in Goldsboro to the late Paul W.
Flowers and Lillie Belle Edmundson Flowers. Upon graduating from
Goldsboro High School in 1950, he joined the United States Air Force
receiving an honorable discharge in 1951 to return home to help care
for his father. He was preceded in death by an infant son,
Christopher Michael Flowers.
Mr. Flowers worked at Dupont in Kinston for six years and then for
the Freeman White Associates. He relocated to the Freeman White
Associates office in Tampa, Florida before retiring in 1987. Mr.
Flowers was a member of Goldsboro Friends Meeting and after
returning to Goldsboro, he was a member of the Goldsboro Elks Lodge
#139 B.P.O.E.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Interment will be
Monday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Flowers is survived by his wife, Betty Gainey Flowers; his sons,
David Curtis Flowers and wife Donna of Goldsboro, Clifton Byron
Flowers and wife Cindy of Elizabeth City, and Paul W. Flowers III of
Goldsboro; his daughter, Lou Ann Flowers of the home; two sisters,
Helen Winchester and husband, James C. Winchester of Monroe and
Doris L. Flowers of Matthews; one granddaughter, Jennifer Marie
Flowers of Virginia Beach, VA and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 5-6 p.m. at
Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
