Ottis Clinton Freeman
Goldsboro
- Ottis Clinton Freeman, 89, of 404 Green Drive, died Friday morning
at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Rev. Harley
Clinton Freeman and Martha Wiggins Freeman. He served 42 years
in the public school system as principal and teacher, 17 of those
years as the principal of Corinth-Holders High School and 15 years
as guidance counselor at Charlotte-Mecklenburg public school system.
Mr. Freeman was a member of Masonic Lodge Archers Lodge #165, North
Carolina Association of Educators, Retired Teacher's Association,
Principal's Association of North Carolina and Daniels Memorial
United Methodist Church. He was the founder of the Cornith-Holders
Volunteer Fire Department and was a retired volunteer firefighter.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Daniels
Memorial United Methodist Church with the Reverends T. R. Miller and
Bill Crowder officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen
Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mae Morton
Freeman; daughter. Betty Freeman Williamson and husband, I.K. of
Goldsboro; brother, Paul W. Freeman and wife, Jean of Glade Valley;
sister, Mae Freeman Fortner and husband, Gudger of Bakersville;
grandchildren, Louann Heath and husband, Thomas of Goldsboro and Lee
Williamson and wife, Laura of Charlotte; great-grandchildren,
Michael Heath and Kelly Heath.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph Freeman and Claude
Freeman.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Masons.

Goldsboro, NC 27530
The family will receive friends Saturday at Seymour Funeral Home
from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and other times at the residence.
