Goldsboro
– Mary Lassiter Gardner, 84, of 1603 E. Maple Street, died Saturday
in her home. A native of Lenoir County, she was the daughter of the
late Stephen and Emma Coker Lassiter and the widow of the late Edgar
H. Gardner. Mrs. Gardner was retired from General Electric Carolina
Welds Plant. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Wayne
Memorial Park.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law; Pamela G. McIntyre
of Goldsboro and Paula G. Carter and husband, Ricky of Clinton,
N.C., and her son Edgar Stephen Gardner of Safrit, Kuwait;
grandchildren, Elizabeth McIntyre and Brian Carter; step-grandchild,
Kelly Carter and her brother, Raymond Lassiter of Goldsboro.
Flowers are welcome although memorials may be made to the charity of
one’s choice.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at
Seymour Funeral Home and at the residence at other times.
