Richard James Garofalo

Goldsboro – Richard James Garofalo, 58, died on Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Richard was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on May 17, 1949 to Evelyn DeGeorge Garofalo of Erie, PA and the late Joseph Garofalo. He served his country in the United States Air Force and retired with 20 years of service as an aircraft scheduler. Richard had a great love for animals.

Memorial services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Full military honors will follow the service on the front lawn.

In addition to his mother, Richard is survived by his wife, Amy Gohdes Garofalo; his children, Terri Grice and husband, David of Goldsboro, Scott Garofalo and wife, Yvette of Youngsville, and Angela Garofalo of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Onesti, Alex and Izaah; his brothers, Joe Garofalo and Paul Garofalo of Erie, PA and Bobby Garofalo of Fort Myers, Florida; a special friend, Carl of Erie, PA and several special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Garofalo and his brother, Stephen Garofalo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wayne County Animal Shelter, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends Sunday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at David and Terri Grice, 123 Farnsworth Drive, Goldsboro, NC.
