George Mark Goforth, Jr.

Goldsboro - Mr. George Mark Goforth, Jr., 83, of 603 Prince Ave., died Saturday, February 14, 2004. A native of Caldwell County, he was the son of the late George M. Goforth Sr. and Nell Myers Goforth. Mr. Goforth was a l942 graduate of North Carolina State University and retired in 1975 from the North Carolina Farm Extension Service. He was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church and the Golden K Kiwanis Club. Mr. Goforth served in World War II was a retired Major in the United States Army Reserve.

Funeral services will be 2 P. M. Monday at Saint Paul United Methodist Church with Dr. Billy Seate officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Surviving: wife; Malissa Godwin Goforth; daughter; Nell Myers Goforth Wiggins and husband John Thomas Wiggins of Goldsboro; granddaughters, Malissa Goforth Wiggins and Leslie Myers Wiggins both of Goldsboro; sisters, Caroline Butler of Littleton, Colorado, Helen Cox of Florence, Alabama, and Margaret Myers of Ft. Myers, Florida; brother, Preston Goforth of Neckarau, Germany; many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 P. M. until 6 P. M. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
