Joe Wayne Gray

Snow Hill – Mr. Joe Wayne Gray, 62, of 71 Bradford Lane, died Saturday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of Jenny Hines Gray and the late Claudie Gray. He had recently retired as terminal manager with Estes Express.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 6:30 PM at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Hollamon officiating. Interment will be Monday at 10 AM at Wayne Memorial Park.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Anne Smith Gray; daughters, Lisa Grant and husband, Roger of Snow Hill and Tammy Chavis and husband, Ricky of Stedman; sisters, Lucile Lancaster of LaGrange and Carrie Grant of Snow Hill; a brother, Marvin Gray of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Ashley Grant, Deric Grant, Jennifer Chavis, Ricky Chavis, Jr. And Jody Chavis.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Gray.

The family will receive friends following the funeral service and at other times at the residence.
