Johnny Gurley, Jr.

Pikeville – Johnny Gurley, Jr, 50, of 193 Wilbert Lane, died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of John William Gurley, Sr. and Peggy Lancaster Gurley. Johnny was a farmer. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Wayne County Livestock Association and was a former member of D & H Saddle Club.

Johnny was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. His greatest love was for his family especially his granddaughters. He spent some of the happiest days of his life at the Wayne County Fair. In all his life, he never missed a fair. His family will truly miss him.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 AM at Lancaster Cemetery. Rev. Mike Grady will officiate.

In addition to his parents, Johnny is survived by his wife, Patsy Martin Gurley; a son, David Gurley of Pikeville, a daughter, Angel Webb and husband, Jamie of Snow Hill; two sisters, Donna Mozingo and Terry Radford of Pikeville; three granddaughters, Baillie, Madison and Emily Webb and a special uncle, Chris Lancaster.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 PM at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John William Gurley, Sr., 5780 Wayne Memorial Drive, Pikeville, NC.
