Leland Robert Gurley

– Mr. Leland Robert Gurley, 83, of 117 Glenwood Drive, died Tuesday,
June 4, 2002, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 7, 2002, at 11 a.m. at
Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alfred Wright of Eagle Heights
Baptist Church and Rev. Graham Lewis of Grace Baptist Church
officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Ingram Gurley; eight
children, Roy W. Gurley and wife, Barbara, Raeford L. Gurley and
wife, Helen, Lelanette Glance and husband, Lennie and Arthur Gurley
and wife, Susan of Pikeville, Maggie Smith and husband, Devid of
Princeton, Rachel Lytton and husband, Linwood of Goldsboro, Jimmy
Gurley and wife, Kathy of Stantonsburg and Shade Gurley and wife,
Judy of Charles City, VA; 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren
and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by sons, Edward (Ed) Gurley, Richard Ervin
Gurley and Robert Freeman Gurley and also three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 6, 2002, from 7-9
p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
