Vearl Harper Gurley
Pikeville - Vearl Harper Gurley, 83, a resident of
Countryside Assisted
Living, died Sunday.
A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Robert
Harper and Serrada Ennis Harper and was the widow of James Clinton
Johnson. She was a member of Oak Heights Pentecostal Free Will
Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Seymour
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Horace Johnson officiating.
Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.
She is survived by daughters, Janice Honneycutt and husband, Kermit
of
Benson and Charlotte McFatter Perry and husband, Wayne of Goldsboro;
sons, Clinton Ray Johnson and wife, Shelby of Hamlet, NC and Douglas
L. Johnson of Wilmington; sister, Pearl Surls of Erwin; 10
grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight at Seymour Funeral Home from
7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and other times at the residence of Mr. and Mrs.
Wayne Perry, 111 Tarkin Drive, Goldsboro.
