Mabel Walker Hadden

Goldsboro – Mrs. Mabel Martine Walker Hadden, 89, died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Daviess County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Seth Thomas Walker and Alminnie Alsop Walker and was the widow of Guy Richard Hadden. Mrs. Hadden was a charter member of Northview Baptist Church and was also a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Gillette officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hadden is survived by her daughter, Shirley Hadden Flowers and husband Johnnie R. Flowers, Jr. of Walnut Creek; her sons, Richard Louis Hadden and wife Bonnie Holloman Hadden of Richmond, VA and Robert Lee Hadden and wife Sandra Grantham Hadden of Goldsboro; a son-in-law, Robert Carlton Braswell of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Kathryn Martine Patton and husband Barry of Goldsboro, Robert Carlton Braswell II and wife Gloria of Wallace, Neal G. Flowers and wife Kate of San Francisco, CA, Karen L. Flowers of Dallas, TX and Susan Hadden Angelo and husband Christopher of Raleigh; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Hadden Braswell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northview Baptist Church Building Fund, 600 Patetown Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Shirley H. Flowers, 208 Walnut Creek Drive, Goldsboro.
