Lester H. Hare

Goldsboro – Mr. Lester H. Hare, 82, died Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Hare was born in Wayne County to the late Willie Horace Hare and Bertha Tilton Hare and served during World War II in the Army Air Corps. He worked with W.H. Best and Sons for over 40 years.

As a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, Mr. Hare was a member of the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class and the St. Luke United Methodist Men’s Club. He was also a member of the Goldsboro Host Lions Club.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 14, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Luke United Methodist Church with Rev. Earl Dulaney officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Hare is survived by his wife, Frances Copeland Hare; his daughters, Susan Hare Bevins and husband Bruce Bevins of Burlington, Vermont and Betty Hare Schelhorn of Herndon, Virginia; his sister, Margaret Hare Moore of Goldsboro; and his grandchildren, Nathaniel Edward Bevins, Jason August Schelhorn, Katharine Frances Schelhorn and David Hare Schelhorn.

The family will receive friends Friday at Seymour Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. and other times at his residence.
