Myrtle Holt Hare

Goldsboro – Mrs. Myrtle Holt Hare, 97, of 242 Calvin Lane died
Tuesday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Jim
Holt and Betty Young Holt and was married to the late Louis Russell
Hare. Mrs. Hare was a retired bookkeeper and had worked with City
Hall and Tart’s Saw Mill in Princeton and also with the city of New
York. For many years, she was a cook with the B & G Grill. Mrs. Hare
was a member of Brogden United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 6:30 at Seymour Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Whitfield and Rev. Bill Rose officiating.
Interment will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with
Rev. Shirley Ward.
Mrs. Hare is survived by her daughter, Marlene H. Edwards and
husband, Calvin of Goldsboro; her son, Louis Russell Hare, Jr. of
Goldsboro; nine grandchildren, John Harrell, Jim Harrell, Paul
Harrell, Anne Barnes, Jenny Coudriet, Lydia Mills, Regina Overbee,
Marlene Martin and Cindy Miller; twenty great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Brogden United
Methodist Church, 2918 South U.S. Hwy 117, Dudley, NC 28333 or the
charity of one’s choice.
The family will receive friends Thursday following the service at
Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Calvin and
Marlene H. Edwards, 242 Calvin Lane, Goldsboro.
