Donald Albert Hatem

Goldsboro - Donald Albert “Yankee” Hatem, 65, of 201
Rose Landing Drive in the Rosewood Community, died Saturday. A
native of Boston, Mass., he was the son of the late Norman Albert
and Blanch Morency Hatem. Yankee, as he was known to his many
friends, retired after thirty-four years of employment with the Spur
Service Center. He was a member of the Skin Diver of the Neptune of
South Boston.
Funeral service will be 7 PM Tuesday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Internment will be 11 AM Wednesday
at Wayne Memorial Park.
Surviving: wife, Mary Lee Hatem; children, Donnie Hatem, Jr. of
Goldsboro, Norman A. Hatem and Dean Hatem both of Boston, Mass.,
Michael T. Hatem of Goldsboro, Victorial Casey and husband Scott of
Dudley, Kimberly S. Hatem of Goldsboro, and Stormie L. Hatem of the
home; special sisters-in-law, Carol Phillips of Goldsboro and Louise
Pridgen of Sharpsburg, N. C., brothers, Norman A. Hatem, Jr. and
wife Pat of Goldboro, Laurence N. Hatem and wife Carlene of
Goldsboro, Robert Hatem and wife Delores of La Grange and Ronnie
Hatem and wife Kendra of Goldsboro; special grandchildren, Mary
Margaret, Scarlet Nicole, and Lawton Scott Casey of Dudley, Donnie,
Joey, Ronnie, Alex, Chelse, and Tina Hatem of Boston; eighteen
nieces and nephews; thirteen great-nieces and nephews; special
daughter-in-law, Teresa Hatem Cherio of the Goldsboro Police
Department; special friends, Don Hinson of Tennessee, Benny Melvin
of Raleigh, “Boss Man” Clifton Reynolds of Clinton, Frank and Willa
Kornegay, Rob and Penny Anderson and Jack and Renee Koepke all of
Goldsboro.
Mr. Hatem was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a
step-son, Robert K. Lewis of Seven Springs.
The family will receive friends following the service Tuesday at the
funeral home and other times at the residence.
