Willis Carson Hawkins

Goldsboro
- Willis Carson Hawkins, 80, a resident of the Pines, went to be
with his Lord on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Wayne Memorial
Hospital.
Carson was born in Wilson County on January 21, 1928 to the late
Robert Lee Hawkins and Lillie McCoy Johnson Hawkins. He was the
retired owner and operator of Hawkins Service Center in Goldsboro.
Carson was a graduate of Atlantic Christian College and was a United
States Navy veteran of World War II. He was a faithful member of
Faith Free Will Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and
in the bus ministry for over 30 years.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Dann Patrick and Rev. Rex Evans officiating.
Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Carson is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth Gurley
Hawkins; his sons, Donald C. Hawkins and wife, Vickie of Goldsboro
and Kenneth F. Hawkins and wife, Kathy of Goldsboro; his
grandchildren, Beth Hawkins Spence and husband, William, and Lesley
Hawkins Voeller and husband, Brian; and his great-grandchildren,
Dail Spence, Karsen Spence, Cooper Voeller, Hayden Voeller and
Bailey Voeller.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother,
Randell Hawkins.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the building fund at
Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 1200 West Grantham Street,
Goldsboro, NC 27530.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at
Seymour Funeral Home. |
